Core Aeration
We pull thousands of soil plugs across your lawn to relieve compaction so water, air and fertilizer reach the roots.

Overseeding
New grass seed spread right after aeration fills in thin, patchy and worn areas. Fall is the best time to overseed in Michigan.

Aeration + Overseeding Combo
Our most popular fall service. Aerating first gives new seed the best seed-to-soil contact for strong germination.

Dethatching
Removes the thick layer of dead grass and debris that blocks water and nutrients and invites disease.

Lawn Fertilization Program
Pair aeration with our seasonal fertilizer and weed control program for the best results all year.

Commercial & HOA Lawns
Aeration and overseeding for condo associations, offices, retail plazas and commercial properties.
Lawn Aeration Service in Flat Rock & Downriver
Downriver lawns sit on heavy clay soil that packs down hard from foot traffic, mowing and our Michigan winters. Compacted soil keeps water, air and fertilizer from reaching the roots, so even a well-fed lawn can stay thin. Core aeration opens the soil back up. Paired with overseeding, it is the single best thing you can do to thicken an existing lawn without starting over.
When Should I Aerate My Lawn?
For the cool-season grasses in our area, like Kentucky bluegrass, fall is the best time to aerate and overseed. Spring aeration also helps lawns with heavy compaction. We schedule aeration around soil moisture and the weather, so call early to get on the list.

Aeration FAQ
Do I need to water before you aerate? Moist soil aerates best. If it has been dry, water the lawn a day or two before your scheduled date.
What do I do with the plugs? Leave them. They break down on their own within a few weeks and return nutrients to the soil.
What about my sprinkler heads? Please mark sprinkler heads and any shallow lines before we arrive. If we service your irrigation, let us know when you book.
How do I get a price? Aeration is priced by lawn size. Call 734-560-2089 or use the form below. Also see our lawn fertilization program.
